Don't wait for fear to pass
Waiting to act until you have no fear will keep you waiting forever. Anything worth doing triggers fear. What defines people who succeed is that they feel the fear and act anyway. If you've been stuck in fear let Nelson Mandela inspire you: “I felt fear myself more times than I can remember, but I hid it behind a mask of boldness. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”
Don't Take It Personally
In business, and in life, people's actions are rarely about you. They're not aiming to take you down or disrespect you. They're aiming to make themselves happy. When you're swept up in the “how dare you do this to me cycle,” emotions can create negative reactions and cloud your decisions. By remembering it's not about you personally you're free to see more angles and make powerful choices.
Ask For What You Need
Successful people confidently ask for what they want. Often we worry about bothering people or hearing the word no. The bottom line is you have the right to ask and they have the right to say no. There are no villains and victims, just adults with rights. Don't worry about the results. Just know that asking is the first step to getting.
Movers and shakers know how to create and leverage relationships. No one does it alone. To build a network first be useful to others. Rather than wondering what they can do for you, think about what you can do for them. By acting with genuine generosity you create the types of networks that will uplift you in return.
Shift your expectations
Stress arises when our expectations and reality clash. Big dreams aren't meant to be easy. The right path there will bring lots of serendipity but everything in life has its challenges. When you hit a road bump don't despair or give up. See it as part of the journey that will bring you closer to where you want to be.
