New York Fashion Week takes another blow this week with yet another jarring announcement. Not only will NYFW no longer be held at Lincoln Center (after February), but it has now lost their title sponsorship in Mercedes-Benz.
While the lux car brand is leaving NYFW, it still plans on supporting other international fashion weeks. This comes with the announcement that WME-IMG, the company that owns Mercedes-Benz, is rumored to acquire MADE Fashion Week, which launched to allow new up-and-coming designers who can't afford a spot at Lincoln Center.
So...what does this mean for the fashion extravaganza in the Big Apple? We are hoping that it doesn't mean a complete free-for-all and fashionistas roaming the streets aimlessly, but it could be exciting to see how creative designers and show producers can be playing with different spaces. This is definitely one to watch.
